It's a long story, so I won't get into the logistics. But for anyone that doesn't know, we (as a family) are working with a dear friend (Lance) to help a young guy who lives in Hawaii out of a difficult situation. He acquired a property in Coalville (technically Wanship) and the house needs some serious work - there was water damage that was left neglected for over a year, and it wreaked HAVOC. So Soogie, me, Mike, Dan, Kate, Shawn, and Lance armed ourselves with masks, bleach, water, sponges, work gloves and snow shovels and headed up there to do some work. When we got there, we were blown away by how much snow was in the driveway - almost 3 feet! So the first thing we had to do was shovel a path to get to the door:

Once we got inside, we wandered around for a little while, trying to decide where to start. Kate, Soogie and I started on bleaching the mold; we got a bucket with water and sponges and went to work wiping down walls. The boys went downstairs and started ripping up damaged carpet and hauling it out to the backyard. Since the house hasn't been lived in for over a year and a half, the water was turned off, there was no electricity, and no heat; so it was COLD!

We accomplished what we went there for, though, in only a few hours; basically ripping out damaged carpet in the basement and killing as much mold with bleach as we could find. Next time we go up, hopefully we'll be able to tear up more damaged carpet and clean out some of the damaged vanities is the bathrooms. This house is going to take a LOT of work - but when it's all done and fixed up, it's going to be gorgeous! The view is incredible - in this picture of Dan, you can sort-of see the view off the back porch.
And here are 5 of the 7 of us that went up to work on the house (the guy in the blue sweatshirt is our good friend Lance):

Good times! :) Thanks to everyone who took the time to go up with us, and work on this house!
