You Sing!

I had dinner with Grandma tonight. We had the usual exchange of, "Who is your mother?" and "Are you in school?" kind of conversation, complete with Grandma saying she'd like to make me a key to her place so I would feel comfortable enough to come over anytime, even if she wasn't there. So cute. But the funniest moment was when she started talking about Mr. Rogers, then started singing the theme song. Suddenly she stopped, looked at me, and commanded, "You sing!" So, after a moment of trying to decide if she was serious, where she just watched me intently, I started singing. When I was done, she started laughing and clapping her hands, then said, "Good! 100 percent!"

I guess the funniest thing was...I did know every word to that theme song...without even thinking.

Wow! I am impressed. I have little kids and I can't even begin to think what the theme song to Mr. Roger Neighborhood is. Way to go!

Hahahah! Oh man. Good times, Grandma. That'd be so hilarious if she only pretended she was losing it just so she could pull crazy shenanigans like that!

I have to say it sorta creeped me out to see Mr. Rogers looking at me when I opened up the blog, hehehe.

And I can't remember the words to Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. The words have been replaced in my brain... Dan knows what I'm talking about ;)

Mar, that is the funniest story! I can just picture you, and it totally makes me laugh! I'm going to save that mental picture for a day I'm sad. :)

Oh, I so do not want to get old. But hey, she must be pretty happy if she's thinking of that song!

love ya!

"Wont you please, please wont you be... my neighbor." Fantastic story, really brightened my night of sleeplessness. That Grandma is so cute.

oh how I love deGams. "have a fat boy!" Summer always reminds me of swimming at shadowbrook and all of those quarters she would give us for the pop machine. And the tuna sandwiches she would make us.
