Firepit Inauguration and a Snowy Oktoberfest

Last weekend, Jesse got the firepit in the backyard ready, and we had our first bonfire. We sat around, chatted and made s'mores--just like camping! With the rustling of the aspens, the feel of the fire, and the smell of the smoke, if I closed my eyes, I felt like I was in the mountains. Fun!

The next day, a bunch of us went up to Snowbird for Oktoberfest, like we try to do every year. But it was absolutely freezing and dumping snow! But, because of the weather, we did get to hear the alpen horn players. Usually they play on top of the mountain, but they performed in the pavilion this time. They played some cool stuff, like Amazing Grace. Very cool!

Haha. It's awesome that you guys have a legit firepit in your backyard. It's october... we should definitely do scary stories back there around the campfire at least once before Halloween.

And yeah... that snow on Saturday was ridiculous!

How about we do that for Jesse's birthday? We can bbq, have a fire, do dutch oven dessert, and tell scary stories. We might as well do that in Moab, too. But I'm not sitting next to Mike if he's telling the story. :)
