London Calling

]Thought I'd post some pictures from Jesse's and my trip for you all. We had a blast - but are exhausted and glad to be home! :)

We stopped first at Avebury - a kind of Stonehenge-ish, mysterious place. It's cool because you can walk around the stones and the whole thing.

We decided to drive up into Wales on a whim, so we went to Cardiff. The Welsh signs
were really trippy.

The next stop was Tintagel - the mythic birthplace of King Arthur. It really is all a myth, but the town was really charming, and this super-old post office was cool. It was pretty mysterious - and this picture is for Kate...because of the "glowing orb!"

We spent the first five nights camping, which was a lot of fun. Our camp site in Tintagel was right next to a farm, and the mooing cows woke us up a few times.

The castle was supposed to be Arthur's birthplace, but it was actually built around 1500-ish. It was a lot of fun to wander around and imagine what the old castle was like. It was right on a little island, and there's a cave in the little cove called Merlin's Cave. This was one of our favorite days.

Land's End is the most south-westerly point in England. It was gorgeous.

St. Michael's Mount is the "sister abbey" to Mont St. Michel in France.

We had to take a boat ride out to the Mount.

The castle at the top has been (and might still be) a residence for a long time, and it was fun to climb up to the top and tour the castle.

The Cornish countryside is gorgeous!

Even though we saw the town of Exeter in the dark, it was still very cool, with a very old cathedral and a lot of buildings over 500 years old.

The mysterious Stonehenge...

We spent a couple days in Paris...just for me. :) We ate a crepe while walking around the Eiffel Tower. I couldn't stop from grinning.

The Catacombs of Paris are so creepy! Millions of bones piled in an old stone mine...

One of the highlights of our entire trip was our day at Disneyland Paris. It was so dang cool!

Tower of London...

Jesse and his Jack Skellington scarf in front of the Bloody Tower.

Big Ben and Parliament all lit up at night...

We got to attend Stake Conference at the Hyde Park ward building.

Another major highlight - Wicked! It was awesome to see a show in London, especially such a fun one as Wicked.

And one of Jesse's highlights...the Apple store. :)

We drove a lot (Jesse got really good at driving on the left side of the road), rode trains a lot, walked a lot, played a lot, ate too much chocolate (mmmm...) and saw a lot of awesome stuff. Jesse was so patient with my shopping in Paris, and my crazy-want-to-see-everything mode from time to time. But overall - it was so great!

Yep - that's a Jack Skellington scarf. It was interesting...we saw as many people wearing Nightmare/Jack Skellington stuff in Disneyland Paris as we do in Disneyland in California! I guess Jack is serious when he says, "And I'm known throughout England and France..." :)

Okay, now you have three jealous Sybrowskys on your hands. Of course I'm always jealous when you get to go to Europe/England/etc., but when Christian (who has been bugging me to go to Europe since we got married) saw that you CAMPED, he went crazy. :) Then James saw the skulls and wanted to go to Paris "right now." You guys are such lucky ducks!
