You know, it's a good thing these guys are so cute.
Indy is adorable when he curls up on the recliner in the family room. Bo is adorable when he fats around on the couch - he's so huggable when he puts his paws on your arms and legs for attention. It's sad when they desperately need to get out and play - but no one has time to take them to the park. It's funny when Bo's way of pouting is to stick his nose in the trash can next to mom's chair and find something to shred that will make everyone mad. It's funny that Indy's favorite thing is empty toilet paper rolls - he likes to shred them in the front living room.
But there's nothing adorable or funny about them both barking like mad at 4:30 in the morning. It's even less than funny when they bark off and on like mad until 7:00 in the morning. The drawback to how my bedroom is placed in the house is that the noise - any noise - echoes. So when the dogs bark at... well, whatever they bark at, at 4:30 in the morning, I want to strangle them both just to shut them up. I'm sure Mike feels that way too when Indy goes in the backyard and barks into the window-well where his bedroom is.
Oh, it's a good thing these guys are cute....

I know, I swear they're cute on purpose...
makes you wonder. You always hear about dogs being able to see things we can't see (like ghosts or something). Makes you wonder why they're so freaked out sometimes. Like, I shut a cupboard in the basement and they, outside, run to the window nearest that sound and start barking. Crazy dogs.
Funny... I was talking to Steve about that this morning, that the veil can be thin for dogs. But this morning, they were barking like crazy at 7:00 - and Steve didn't get home until 7:30. He said they heard his shoe squeak outside and they started barking... wow, they've got some seriously good ears!
